1. Registration

NOW TIL END OF FIRST ROUND May 14 2016. All early registration will take place by contacting Jay@thecityschat or calling 210-695-0381. On-site registration will be at ER BAR on Saturday May 14, 2016, from 10:00am-10:45am. Early registration fee is $20 and on-site registration fee is $25 with a valid I.D. Registrations consist of entry to double elimination tournament.

 

2. Eligibility and Limitations

Everyone is eligible to participate. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult due to serving of alcohol.

 

3. Tournament Preparation

a) Be prepared to play any of the regular season teams in NBA 2k16.

b) There will be no consoles available for warm-up prior to competing.c) It is the responsibility of the competitors to know how to play NBA 2k16.

**The Tournament Organizers are not required to provide How-To-Play instructions**

 

 

4. Console and Game Settings

a) All consoles, games, and televisions will be supplied at the event. The XBOXONE system will be used throughout competition. PARTICIPANTS SHOULDBRING THEIR OWN CONTROLLER!! EXTRAS MAY BE AVAILABLE UPONREQUEST!!

 

b) No cheats will be allowed, nor will the use of objects external to the controllersbe allowed. Should a participant be caught cheating or using an external object, theywill be immediately disqualified without refund.

 

c) Team Selection:

 

  1. Once participant has entered the Tournament, such participant mayplay with any of the current 30 (thirty) NBA teams. The all-time teams/fantasy teams are not allowed in the Tournament.

 

  2. Coin toss will determine which competitor will be home/away team.

 

d) Game Settings:

 

  1. Quarter length: 5 minutes

 

  2. Skill: Hall of Fame

 

  3. Substitution: Default

 

  4. Two minute time limit before game starts to change starting line-up,coaching options, or anything of that sort.

ON SCREEN GAMEPLAY MENU OR TIMEOUT WILL BE UTILIZED FOR ANY SUBS OR COACHING CHANGES AFTER THE GAME BEGINS.

 

5. All other settings will be default.

 

6. Overtime (OT) will decide all ties at the end of regulation. There will bea winner for every match.

5. Schedule

a) Registration begins NOW and shall close after first round on . If any spots remain open, these will be filled on a first come, first servebasis the day of the event.May 14, 2016

 

b) Once the first 40 spots are filled registration will be closed. TournamentOrganizers reserve the right to alter the number of available slots at any time.

 

c) Participants should be available to play the entire day of Sunday, May 14, 2016.

 

d) All tournament play will take place at 4th Quarter Bar  8779 wurzbach rd San Antonio, TX 78240

 

e) The “gaming pit” will be supervised by the “pit boss” or referee.

 

  1. The “pit boss” will enforce all rules. Any dispute will be settled by thelead Tournament Organizer and that decision will be considered final andabsolute.

 

6. Procedures

a) Tournament seeding will be determined in random fashion by TournamentOrganizers. Please be sure to check bracket for game time, participants responsibility. Valid identification may be asked before any game. NO ID…NOPLAY!

 

b) The Tournament format is a 1 vs. 1 format.

 

c) Before each game of the Tournament, the “pit boss” will flip a coin. Winner willdecide if he/she wants to be the home/away team.

 

d) This is a double-elimination tournament. No pausing, delays or rewindsallowed. If you do pause a game (using START button), then you must burn atimeout as a penalty. If you have no timeouts left, you will be required to turnoverpossession of the ball as a penalty.

 

e) Only the given :60 or :20 sec will be allotted for each taken timeouts. If youpause the game without any timeouts left you have to turnover possession of theball. If you pause the game a second time THIS WILL CASUE A DISQUALIFICATION. You can only pause game on offense and on dead balls.

 

f) “Skunk Rule” is not in effect. PLAY TO WIN!!

 

g) The winner of each round will be determined by highest point total and willadvance to the next round. The loser will drop to losers’ bracket on first lost. A losein the losers bracket will result in elimination from tournament play.

 

h) Participants must remain in the “gaming pit” until scoring notes are completedby “pit boss”. Leaving the “gaming pit” before a completed game may result in misreported information.

 

i) Players have 5 MINUTES, upon notification that they’re next to play, to reportto their match or they will face immediate lose and/or elimination. We need to keep the event moving in a timely fashion. EXCEPTIONS CANNOT AND WONT BE MADE!!

 

7. Tournament Conduct and Decisions

a) By participating in the Tournament, competitors agree to be bound by thedecisions of the Tournament Organizers. Persons who violate any rule, gain unfairadvantage in participating in the Tournament, or obtain winner status using fraudulent means will be disqualified and/or asked to leave 4th QUARTER SPORTSBAR. NO SIDELINE COACHING OR GAMBLING IS ALLOWED.

 

b) Unsportsmanlike, disruptive, annoying, harassing or threatening behavior isprohibited. Foul language towards others of any kind will not be permitted ortolerated and may lead to disqualification and/or asked to leave 4th QUARTERSPORTS BAR.

 

c) NO MEMORY CARDS OR SAVED GAMES ALLOWED.

 

d) Any other action designed to disrupt the opposing player’s view of play is prohibited.

 

e) All scores are final. Negative remarks to the Tournament Administrator or personnel of the Tournament Organizers will not be tolerated.

 

f) The Tournament Organizers will interpret these rules and resolve any disputes,conflicting claims or ambiguities concerning the rules of the Tournament and theTournament Organizers’ decisions concerning such disputes will be final andabsolute.

 

g) If the conduct or outcome of the Tournament is affected by human error, anymechanical malfunctions or failures of any kind, intentional interference or any eventbeyond the control of the Tournament Organizers, the Tournament Organizersreserve the right to terminate the Tournament, or make such other decisionsregarding the outcome as the Tournament Organizers deem appropriate.

 

h) Any intentional distraction to the players while they are playing, including butnot limited to turning off the game, will result in immediate disqualification and removal from 4th QUARTER SPORTS BAR.

 

i) If a controller is defective, a player can pause the game and notify the “pitboss”. If a player plays with a defective controller, all results are counted.

 

j) All decisions will be made by the Lead Tournament Organizers and aredeemed final and absolute. The Tournament The Tournament Organizers may waive any of these

rules in their sole discretion and/or may make determinations and rulings that are
contrary to rules in the spirit of fairness.
